Governor Scott has recently appointed Derrick Glymph, DNAP, CRNA, to serve on the Florida Board of Nursing. Glymph is a Clinical Assistant Professor of anesthesiology nursing in Florida International University’s Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Starting his career with an Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing from Norfolk State University in 1995 and 1997, respectively, and a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Nurse Anesthesia Practice degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2004 and 2010, respectively, Glymph transitioned from a License Practical Nurse to a Registered Nurse and finally to an advanced practice Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Currently, Dr. Glymph is a professor, in the NW/CNHS Department of Nurse Anesthetist Practice.  He also has been appointed to Mount Sinai Medical Center, working with Miami Beach Anesthesiology Associates where he works in an anesthesia practice.  In addition, Dr. Glymph is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserves and serves as Chief Anestetist-4224 United States Army Hospital, USAR.
