ATLANTA (AP) _ A high school sports media company is concluding the launch of a student broadcast academy in Atlanta.

The NFHS Network hosted the three-day academy, which ends on Sunday. The academy featured speakers from Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin and sports commentator Brad Nessler.

The academy was created to help students develop skills through hands-on broadcast training sessions and workshops.

Students and teachers from 21 states attended the academy.

Other speakers included ESPN anchor Chris Cotter, CSE President Adam Zimmerman and Vicki Michaelis, a sports journalism professor at the University of Georgia.

The NFHS Network is an online site to watch high school sports and other events live and on demand.
