MIAMI – Miami-Dade public school teachers made history May 16 when Fedrick Ingram was sworn in as the first African-American president of their union, the United Teachers of Dade (UTD). It will make it the first time in the UTD’s 83 year history that a black man will lead the organization.

WEST PALM BEACH — And for the fifth straight year, the winner is … The Education Network! The Palm Beach County School District’s station, The Education Network, has been honored with its seventh Telly Award, from among nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries. The award — in the information category for The Eighth Wonder of the World: Henry Flagler’s Over-Sea Railroad — is considered  a sign of creative excellence.

MIRAMAR – The city of Miramar has announced that it will establish a commemorative pathway called Education Row at the Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark to honor distinguished educators representing all artistic disciplines.
