FORT LAUDERDALE — Young At Art Museum, in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Lauderdale (HACFL) and Community Foundation of Broward, is building community through art with YAA ArtHouse @ Northwest Gardens, a creative placemaking hub, enabling professional artists and residents of all ages to participate in a socially engaged approach where the creation of public art, community exhibitions, events and art-based programs are designed to enhance the thriving, vibrant planned community in which they live.

BELZONI, Miss. (AP) – Civil rights pioneer the Rev. George Lee will be honored with a marker on the Mississippi Freedom Trail. The ceremony was to be held Friday in Belzoni at Green Grove M.B. Church, where the marker will be placed.

MIAMI – The Links, Inc. Greater Miami Chapter in partnership with the Overtown Youth Center (OYC) recently culminated the end of the nationally recognized L.E.T.S. Draw program by announcing that program participant Charlotte Graham has been  accepted into the Design & Architecture Senior High School (DASH), currently ranked as the seventh top magnet school in the nation and 20th overall high school in the United States for 2013 by U.S. News and World Report.
