"Sergeant Suspended Over Deputy's Prostitution Arrest"

POMPANO BEACH- An off-duty Broward Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested in a prostitution sting that was conducted by his own department, in the same city where he is assigned to patrol.

Deputy Christian Benenati, 40, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with soliciting another for lewdness. The arrest and alleged incident occurred in the 1200 block of NW 31^st Avenue in Pompano Beach.

As it turns out, the streetwalker he is accused of soliciting was actually an undercover deputy and part of a sting operation.

Benenati was released on $300 bail. His employment status is not presently known.

FLPD had one of it Executives Caught in Sting years ago

Rumor is Ft. Lauderdale Police Department [known for its great ethics and law abiding officers-LOL] had one of is Executives allegedly caught in a similar sting in Plantation years ago. Like alot of things it was covered up by the Department. The person was not only not fired-- they were promoted. Got to love that leadership by example.
