Al Calloway’s column in the Oct. 18 issue, titled, Romney president if we don’t vote, was not only well written but also subtlety eloquent in its content.

He is right in many points regarding President Barack Obama's failures in harnessing the grassroots effort which helped get him elected to the highest office in the land — that and his administration's myopic and singleminded effort to pass the Affordable Health Care Act.

However, that is where he and I part ways.

Mitt Romney will be the next president of the United States not because of Obama's failure to expand on his support or racism —remember, whites voted Obama into office; no other group could have done that — but rather because his policies have failed
America.

George W. Bush, of whom I am no fan, can be blamed only for so long and that time has come and gone.

Calloway must face the reality of Obama's failures even when in full control of both houses of Congress to address the single most pressing issue to voters: the economy.

If Obama had elected to first address our economic issues in his first term, he then would have been able to pursue the health care legislation in a possible second term, which would have been a certain possibility with a truly booming economy.

However, his priorities were not in sync with those of America as a whole.

Voting for Obama because he is black goes against Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s teachings of judging a man by the content of his character and not by the color of his skin. So much for that.

Why is it okay to start an academy for "black boys". If a school is opened to benefit low income boys then it should be opened for benefit of all low income children regardless of race.
