sharief_web.jpgHOLLYWOOD – Women’s Empowerment 2013, presented by Memorial Healthcare Systems and the Community Access Center, will help celebrate Haitian Heritage & Cultural Month, Saturday, May 18, 8:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Memorial Hospital auditorium, 3501 Johnson St. in Hollywood.

“We aim to unleash the potential of emerging Haitian women leaders, and to create opportunities for more effective and successful careers and lives,” the organizers say. “Inspiration from leaders across varied industries and disciplines will inspire participants to amplify the role played as women leaders.
The Women’s Empowerment Conference will give Haitian-American women the tools to contribute and continue to play important economic, cultural and social roles in their lives.”
Topics include Leadership Empowerment, Professional Development, Mentoring & Networking; Strategic Insight & Balance. Vendors include the Health & Wellness Center, Spa and Beauty Center, Business & Career Development Center, and Haitian Art and Handicrafts Corner.
Guests include U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson; Barbara Sharief, Broward County vice mayor; Bernadette Morris, founder, W.I.N.G.S; Tonya Seavers-Evans, business strategist; Jasmine Jones, Broward County Small Business Outreach manager; and Aurore Francois, author, educator and singer.
