LET’S MOVE: A community initiative to get residents moving in a healthy direction is hosting a kickball game between police and residents.
DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Part wellness focused, part relationship building between police the and community, Delray Beach residents and their local law enforcement officers will compete in a friendly game of kickball on Sunday at Pompey Park, 1101 N.W. 2nd Street in Delray Beach. The game is a part of Palm Healthcare Foundation’s “Let’s Move” Challenge, which encourages more physical activity during the month of March.
The Northside/Southside Community Kickball Game with the police officers and residents is scheduled for Sunday, March 25 at 4 p.m. It is part of a schedule of events that is bringing people together to exercise for fun. Organizer Andrea Bruton welcomes everyone who remembers having a great time playing kickball in school to come out and show their skills against Delray Beach’s finest.
In 2018, the foundation is partnering with corporations, schools, youth groups, after-school programs, fitness programs, local gyms and non-profit organizations for the 6th annual challenge, which runs through Saturday, March 31.
The countywide campaign focuses on physical activity, nutrition and healthy behaviors. Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc., in partnership with PNC Bank and CBS12, sponsors the annual challenge. The foundation encourages Palm Beach County residents who participate in the challenge to continue incorporating physical activity in their daily lives beyond the month of March.
