GREENACRES, Fla. – As part of its ongoing support of the community, Hoffman’s Chocolates will celebrate the start of the 2017-2018 school year by holding a Backpack Donation Drive to benefit Kids in Distress (KID) of Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

KID is a nationally accredited agency working for the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family and the treatment of abused and neglected children.

Anyone who donates a new school backpack at a participating Hoffman’s Chocolates location on Saturday, August 12 or Sunday, August 13 will receive their choice of a free pre-packaged classic assortment box of milk or dark chocolates or a hot fudge sundae made with two scoops of ice cream, topped with hot fudge, one additional topping, and whipped cream (limited to one complimentary Hoffman’s treat per one donated backpack and valid for redemption on the day of donation only).

All backpacks need to be brought to the store registers for redemption. Participating locations include the chocolatier’s stores in Greenacres, Lake Worth, Palm Beach Gardens, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Plantation and Weston. Visit hoffmans.com for store locations and hours of operation.

“Supporting our community has always been a priority for Hoffman’s Chocolates,” said Lois Marino, Director of Community Engagement for Hoffman’s Chocolates. “We know how expensive back-to-school supplies can be for families and we want to do our part by helping as many children and families as we can in the community by holding our back-to-school drive.”
