MIAMI, FL – Overtown’s Historic St. Agnes’ Episcopal Church, one of Miami’s oldest African-American congregations, is the site of a spirit-filled holiday concert event, the Community Arts Program (CAP) Overtown Holiday Spectacular! The tenth anniversary performance will include a mix of Neo-Classical- and Mission-style designs.

The afternoon of music will be followed by a celebratory reception. The event is presented by the Community Arts Program (CAP) after-school Conservatory for the Arts and features its CAP Young Musicians’ String Consorts, Chamber Ensemble, and CAP Miami Jazz Institute Jazz PREP Band and ALL-STAR Jazz Ensemble. CAP children and youth, including vocalists and faculty from throughout Miami; perform a program of classical, jazz, and pop styles, with newly-arranged holiday favorites and fun surprises hosted by local CBS4 Sports Anchor, Jim Berry. The family event concludes with a fully-orchestrated grand sing-along to usher in the holiday season.

Providing affordable one-on-one instrument training, written and aural music theory education, performance forums, evaluations, and participation in active-learning ensembles for a diversity of Miami-Dade County children and youth, CAPs continues to provide South Florida with an expanding array of educational and culturally-enriching experiences through its critically-acclaimed Summer Concert Series and award-winning after-school Conservatory for the Arts.
