Miami – The FIU Business Online MBA program has been ranked No. 9 in the world in the 2020 QS Online MBA Rankings, released Wednesday. The rankings, which place the FIU Business program No. 2 among U.S. public school online MBA programs, are based on such factors as academic reputation, quality and diversity of enrolled students, reputation among employers and the class experience. The QS World University rankings are recognized as one of the mostly widely read international university rankings

"FIU Business was a pioneer in online education, offering the first set of online courses two decades ago, so it is no surprise for us to be recognized internationally for the. quality of our online programing," said Joanne Li, dean of FIU Business. "The important role of online education could not be clearer than it is today as we face the unprecedented demands for online and virtual education brought on by COVID-19."

On March 12, one day after the State University System of Florida Board of Governors directed all universities within the system to move to remote learning, FIU Business successfully transitioned 358 sections of face-to-face and hybrid classes to remote learning. In total, FIU converted more than 4,000 sections across the university to remote learning.

FIU Business launched a pilot project of 10 on line courses in 1999 and has continued to expand those offerings while introducing the latest technology. In addition to its Professio nal MBA Online program, FIU Business’s graduate programs also include an Online Healthcare MBA Program and online master’s programs

Today, more than 450 Florida International University online sections have been certified by Quality Matters and there are 257 active certifications in process, more than any other university in Florida and the second most in the U.S. The online programs at FIU Business are among the many graduate business programs offered by the college, one of the nation’s largest producers of business master’s degrees.
