Miami – The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce is shifting focus from business to health with its annual Symposium and Business Leaders Luncheon. This year’s event, on Friday, March 23 at the Hyatt Regency, focuses on Healthy Living:

Changing Lives, Strengthening Our Communities and features someone who has “been there, done that.” Charles Mattock, an award-winning filmmaker, celebrity chef and best-selling author of three books, is the keynote speaker.

Following a 2011 diagnosis of Type II diabetes, Mattock became a health advocate on a mission to help people navigate the disease and its prevention. Mattock’s hit TV show, “Reversed,” the first ever reality documentary TV series to focus on diabetes, follows five people living with the disease. It airs on the Discovery Life network every Tuesday at 7pm EST. Mattock is also nearing completion of a documentary, “The Diabetic You.”

He is a published author with the American Diabetes Association with a new cookbook, “The Budget-Friendly Fresh & Local Diabetes Cookbook” and a children’s book for families managing diabetes.
