Officials from Clear Channel Outdoor Holding Inc. recently presented a $10,000 check to The Belafonte TACOLCY Center to support the its programming and services. Clear Channel will also co-sponsor the agency’s track and field competition in Atlanta this summer. TACOLCY, 6161 NW Ninth Ave. in Miami, has provided educational and social services to Liberty City children for more than 48 years. On hand for the presentation and to meet children on the playground were Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson; Elaine Black, executive director of TACOLCY; Horace Roberts, interim CEO TACOLCY; Josh Jones, TACOLCY board chairman; Miami City Commissioner Keon Hardemon; Jasper Johnson, president/general manger, Clear Channel Outdoor; and Kathleen Rutter, director of public affairs at Clear Channel. Wilson, a staunch supporter of TACOLCY, earlier this year led more than 100 volunteers in a cleanup and beautification day at TACOLCY, as part of on-going efforts to save the struggling nonprofit agency.
