DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — A monthly excursion throughout the streets of Delray Beach is affording residents an opportunity to connect or, in some cases, reconnect with important aspects of the city’s African-American history. The Ride and Remember Trolley Tour departs from the Spady Cultural Museum and is illustrated with colorful stories of the personalities and happenings that influenced the growth of the city; recalling interesting facts while drawing riders “back in time.”

A tour guide informs readers about the city’s interactive, personalized stories of Delray Beach’s interesting origins and development. Riders are taken on a journey through the city’s five historic districts; Old School Square, Nassau Park, Del-Ida Park, Marina and West Settlers; disembarking at select sites for a closer look. Riders will also have the opportunity to tour the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum and two other locations that will be announced during the tour.

Florida Power & Light, Waste Management, Colony Hotel, Hand’s Stationers, Del Raton One-Hour Air-Conditioning & Heating and Jeff Rosenzweig of Cartridge World sponsor the tour, which is scheduled to occur the second Saturday of each month.
