The U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling on same-sex marriage redefined God’s definition of marriage, which has been in effect since the beginning of mankind. The High Court ruled in a 5 to 4 decision on June 26, 2015 to legalize Same Sex Marriage in all fifty States.  Following the passage of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling, President Barack Obama held a press conference in the Rose Garden of the White House to praise the U.S. Supreme Court ruling. In addition, to deliver his campaign promise to the homosexual community, President Barack Obama used his Solicitor General to urge the U.S. Supreme Court Justices to vote to legalize same-sex marriage in all 50 states.

In Genesis 2:21-22, we find the Lord God through Moses, the man of God, telling us how God created a woman (meaning one not two or three) (wife) for Adam and how God performed the first marriage. Genesis 2:21–22 says, “and the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman and brought her unto the man.” Please take note of the fact that God took one of Adam’s ribs to create a woman for him, not another man for Adam. Then God brought her unto the man, not unto another woman, which was the first marriage. You see, God instituted marriage to be between one man and one woman, not between two men or two women. In Matthew 19:4, Christ Jesus stated that “He (God) which made them at the beginning made them male and female.” Yes, as we can see from the foregoing scriptures that God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Furthermore, these scriptures substantiate to us that God made no in-betweeners. God only made male and female.

Homosexuality is an abomination in the sight of God. In Leviticus 18:22, we find the Lord God through Moses, the man of God, telling the Hebrew people of that day and us today that God forbids the practice of homosexuality and has made it a biblical crime and a very bad sin.  Leviticus 18:22 says, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind.  It is abomination.”

Now, in order to have the accurate meaning of the Old Testament scriptures, we must translate back from the original Hebrew text and its dictionary because the Old Testament scriptures were originally written in Hebrew. 

Therefore, when translating we find that the word “thou” refers to “you men” and “shalt” denotes that this is a law of God.  Now, the word “lie” in this particular verse has three main meanings, which are “to connect sexually,” “Sleep” or “lay with.”  The word “mankind” here means “a male” or “another man.”  The phrase “as with” here means “in the same way.”  The word “womankind” means “a female.”

Now, the word “abomination” in Leviticus 18:22  has  several extensive definitions when translated from the original Hebrew text and its dictionary.  It means “something disgusting and nasty in the sight of God,” “an enormous sin” and a very bad sin.   

Yes, God says that homosexuality is “a very bad sin” because this sin really hurts society in many ways and it goes against God’s original design for man and woman.  God Himself calls homosexuality a very bad sin in Genesis 18:20, which says, “And the Lord said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous.”  The phrase “very grievous” in Hebrew means “severe” and “very bad.”

Subsequently, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of the sin of homosexuality.  Please see Genesis 19: 24-25, which reads, “Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; And He overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.” 

The question is why did God destroy all of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah?  The answer here is simple.  God destroyed all of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah because those who were not homosexuals had become desensitized to the sin of homosexuality.  They had evolved into accepting homosexuality as a normal, good and honorable lifestyle.

The same thing is happening today.  People of today are emulating the people that were in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.  We must keep in mind that God does not change.  In other words, God does not evolve as we see in Malachi 3:6, “For I am the Lord, I change not.”  This means that if we keep going down this path, God will eventually destroy America also.

Homosexuals need to know that they will not inherit the kingdom of God; that is to say they will not go to heaven.  According to I Corinthians 6:9-10, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?  Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”  You see when translated from the Hebrew text, the word “effeminate” means homosexuals.  As we can see from the foregoing scriptures, homosexuality is ungodly and must not be practiced in a godly society.

Now, the question is how can we invalidate this ungodly ruling?  This ungodly Supreme Court Ruling can be rectified by the U.S. Congress amending the U.S. Constitution to state that marriage is between one man and one woman only.

I close with this: From a biblical standpoint, the rise of homosexuality is a sign that a society is in the last stages of decay.
