PrintBy the time you read this, this election season will be over. Thank God! As a political junkie and election strategist/consultant, I have really had my fill of the political garbage that I have heard and seen this year.

The Democrats have hit a new low in pandering to black folk. They no longer make ads telling the public what they want to do for them when they get elected. No, they just play the race card; next they play the sex card. They call Republicans racists and sexists, but it is the Democrats who are really the racists and sexists.

And the Republicans seem not to have a clue as to how to fight back. In fact, the only Republicans that I seem to hear a real rebuttal from are Black Republicans. We seem to have the courage to fight back since that’s what we have to do daily – against our “friends,” and sometimes our family – not to mention black “Christians” or the media (black or white).

Let us look at some of the most egregious lies, half-truths and denigrating slurs that make my blood pressure rise.

That’s just about everything that comes out of Al Sharpton’s or Jesse Jackson’s mouths relating to race. In fact, I (and my daughter, Gerri) refused to go to church Sunday because Al Sharpton was “preaching.. It was the first time I have missed church since 1993 unless I was out of town or ill.

I made the mistake of coming to church when Jesse Jackson “preached” and it took all of my inner strength not to get up and walk out. I won’t even go into details except to say it was on Palm Sunday and the 20th anniversary of my son’s death.

My ears almost bled as I listened to the garbage that came out of his mouth as he talked about racism and compared Trayvon Martin to the Baby Jesus. But, as usual, the entire liberal audience gave him more Amen’s than they give our Senior Pastor, whom they claim to love.

You want to just shout sometimes, “Why don’t you just tell the truth?”

I used to have a hard time listening to Tavis Smiley, but even Tavis has started realizing that the truth for Black Americans is something he can no longer run from. I applaud him for that.

Sometimes I have a hard time listening to Michael Eric Dyson, but even he has had the courage to admit that Obama has failed black folk and should never be compared to Dr. Martin Luther King and said so in the “We Count! The Black Agenda is the American Agenda” Conference in Chicago on Saturday, March 20, 2010, as he wildly exclaimed that Obama wasn’t “Moses, he was Pharaoh.”

But the Democratic Party has bastardized history, starting with the 1960’s. They brag about how they have always been in the forefront of civil rights, but that’s a bold-face lie.

John F. Kennedy is worshipped as the “Savior” of black folk. Almost every black house in Alabama and Georgia had a picture of him on their living room wall, right next to Dr. King’s.

But nobody will say how he denigrated Dr. King, his group of black preachers and frankly, the entire black community, especially when he wouldn’t meet with King or he got mad when King held the March on Washington, contrary to Kennedy’s wishes.

Recently, Louisiana Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu, struggling to hold on to her seat in this election, called the South racist and sexist. Everyone knows that the South is now controlled by Republican governors.

But racists Democrats controlled the South for most of the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries. They created the Klu Klux Klan and all of the house burnings, church burnings, beatings, lynchings, and murders were done to Black folk by white Democrats. Even so, black folk joined that racist party as they marched for the right to vote. And contrary to accepted history, there is no evidence that all the racists ran away to the Republican Party.

So as you laugh at denigrating skits about Republicans and get angry when liberals accuse them of racism and having a “War on Women,” please take the time to do your own research and stop listening to people who rewrite history.

But most of all, stop disrespecting Black Republicans because they fought the same fight that all blacks did, but they chose to either remain or go back to the party that passed all of the Civil Rights bills, (e.g. Affirmative Action, Voting Rights Bill, Welfare to Work, etc.) – not the party that takes credit for what someone else did good and point their fickle finger of racism at Republicans while three of those fingers are pointing back at them.
