MIAMI — A recent memorial to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Arthur E. Teele Jr. was held at Charles Hadley Park in Liberty City. The day marked the eighth anniversary of the former city of Miami District 5 commissioner’s untimely demise.
The Liberty City Trust, in partnership with Communities United Inc. and Inner City Children’s Touring Dance, gathered with the Teele family, including his wife Stephanie Kerr Teele, with elected officials, former colleagues and Teele supporters for an evening of food, entertainment, laughs and memories.
The event sponsored by the office of Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones was attended by Miami Mayor Tomas Regaldo and Commissioner Wilfredo Gort, as well as Transport Workers Union Local 291 President Clarence Washington.
The Teele family also received a proclamation from Miami in recognition of his service to District 5 and the entire city during the late commissioner’s administration.
