BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) _ One of the most colorful figures in the music business is scheduled to lead the parade before the Magic City Classic football game in Birmingham.
Alabama State University announced that Bootsy Collins will be the celebrity ambassador for the Magic City Classic Parade at 8 a.m. Oct. 27.
Then he will appear at halftime of the game that afternoon between Alabama State and Alabama A&M at Legion Field.
Collins is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He played bass for Parliament and then led Bootsy's Rubber Band. The 60-year-old entertainer is known for his wild costumers and outrageous sunglasses.
