Miami- A Miami-Dade Clerk of the Courts employee has been arrested on a charge of unlawful compensation.
Godfrey Mead, an 11-year employee of the Clerk’s office was taken into custody Friday. He is accused of accepting payment in exchange for placing cases on the court calendar.
There is no charge for placing items on the court calendar, but prosecutors say Mead accepted $250 from a woman seeking have an issue related to traffic citation placed on the court calendar.
Mead has reportedly admitted he accepted the money and has done so in past.
