HAWTHORNE, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities say a central Florida man found dead in his home was killed by his daughter, who was assisted by his estranged wife.
The Alachua County Sheriff's Office says 51-year-old William Arnold Hudnall was found dead in his home in Hawthorne, about 16 miles east of Gainesville.
Deputies say 19-year-old Guenevere Lynn Hudnall used a pickax to kill her father after he had gone to sleep. Investigators say her mother, Stephanie Lynn Hudnall, drove her to the home and helped destroy some of the evidence.
The women later reported finding him dead to authorities.
Deputies believe money was the likely motive, as both women were unemployed and had discussed receiving Social Security benefits if William Arnold Hudnall died.
