donald-lawrence-2011_web.jpgWEST PALM BEACH — Grammy-nominated and Stellar Award-winning artist Donald Lawrence and Company headline this year’s Gospel Gala at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts on April 27, 7 p.m.

Opening acts will include the award-winning Dimensional Harmony from Boynton Beach High School and the Pompano Beach recording artists Men of Valor of the Hopewell Missionary Church. Known for his mix of urban hip-hop, smooth R&B and soulful gospel ballads, Donald Lawrence is one of the top inspirational singers and composers in the industry. He has collaborated with Peabo Bryson, En Vogue, Mary J. Blige and Kirk Franklin, among others. His soul-stirring songs of praise and worship make this annual event, hosted by the Kravis Center’s Community Relations Committee, a moving and unifying audience experience like no other.

Dimensional Harmony is comprised of 50 Boynton Beach High School students. They have earned superior ratings at district, state, and national competitions, and performed at the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 Music Festivals at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In 2010 they competed in the New York City Heritage Festival, winning first place gold, and performed at the Apollo Theater.

The Visionary Men of Valor of the Hopewell Missionary Church boast the largest all-men’s gospel choir in the state of Florida. Embodying a sound of southern soul and passion, attracting a fan base of Christian, quartet, and traditional gospel admirers, the VMV is smooth and joyful. They have appeared as opening acts with Lee Williams and the Spiritual QCs, and have performed on the same stage with the Canton Spirituals and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.

The Gospel Gala of the Kravis Center’s Community Relations Committee, chaired by Mr. John Jenkins, has featured numerous gospel legends such as Shirley Caesar, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams and Cece Winans.
