They'll first, though, convene a reorganization session Tuesday to formally elect Sen. Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, as Senate President and Rep. Dean Cannon, R-Winter Park, as House speaker.

The two leaders then plan to call a brief special session for later in the day to vote on overriding up to eight vetoes, including a $9.7 million budget item for the University of Florida's hospital.

They also plan action on a couple new items including a $31 million appropriation for consumer energy rebates.

Republicans expanded their control of both chambers at the Nov. 2 election. They have an 81-39 edge over Democrats in the House and 28-12 in the Senate.
