MIAMI — The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, in partnership with Miami gospel radio station WMBM 1490 AM have brought back Free Gospel Sundays, a four-part concert series that opened on Oct. 16 with Yolanda Adams as the headline act.

The program will continue with gospel celebrations in the center’s Knight Concert Hall in December, as well as in February and April 2012.

The soulful sounds of the resident ensemble, the Miami Mass Choir, will be heard at each concert, along with local talent from a local church choir.

The concert series, made possible with the support of the Funding Arts Network, is free through Access Passes that may be reserved in advance by calling the Adrienne Arsht Center box office at 305-949-6722 or by visiting arshtcenter.org and are limited to four per person. The center is located at 1300 Biscayne Blvd. in downtown Miami.

The passes provide patrons with access to seating in the theater.  Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis for the performance and passes do not guarantee a seat. The passes will be made available about four weeks prior to the show date.

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has supported the series since its  inaugural 2008-2009 season, providing a three-year, $150,000 grant to continue it into the Adrienne Arsht Center’s 2013-2014 season.  The Funding Arts Network is also supporting the 2011-2012 season with a grant.
