MIAMI-DADE – After its national conference, the National Association of Health Services Executives planted a vegetable garden on the south side of the Jessie Trice Community Health Center Inc., creating a flower garden at the front of the women’s residential building and planting a tree to commemorate the event. In addition to the planting, NAHSE President, Roy L. Hawkins, Jr. presented Frank Collins, director of Administrative Services with a donation of $750 for the center.
NAHSE on Oct. 19 was lead in this planting effort by its President, Roy L. Hawkins Jr. and one of its sponsors James Nixon, vice president, Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Ga. Local Miami NAHSE chapter officers Celesia Valentine, Baxter, strategic account executive; Christie Grays, Baptist Health South Florida, director, Community Relations; Jasmin Shirley, Broward Health, vice president, Community Health Services, and Anthea Greaves, patient experience manager at Pediatric Associates, and other NAHSE members from other cities were also on hand showing their “green thumbs.”
NAHSE is a non-profit association of black health care executives founded in 1968 to promote the advancement and development of black health care leaders, and elevate the quality of health care services rendered to minority and underserved communities. Since its inception, NAHSE has sponsored and participated in local and national programs and projects designed to improve quality, access to and availability of health services and to expand educational opportunities in the field of health services administration.
