Fox13 reports that the school district plans a Tuesday night meeting in Sandy for a “robust discussion'' regarding racism at the school in Alta.

Last week, several Alta High students were given misdemeanor citations by police for allegedly transmitting pictures of burning crosses on their phones.

Two weeks ago, a student appeared wearing a white-pointed Ku Klux Klan-style hood at a school spirit assembly, and the principal has since resigned.

Fox13 says representatives from the federal government will be in town for a few days helping the school district deal with the problem.
