The 5’10” guard, whose stellar track record this season includes a game high of 36 points, is among 40 players selected to participate in the All-Star games.
Hinnant, a sophomore, will play alongside the country’s elite women’s college basketball players from Texas, Massachusetts, Idaho and other states.
“It feels great to receive this honor,” Hinnant said. “This year taught me to play harder, stronger and smarter. I’ve had the opportunity to prepare for this moment all season and I’m very happy to be around the best group of players in the nation.”
Hinnant’s solid performance has also earned her a place in the 2013 All-Southern Conference Second Team, honorable mention as the FCSAA player of the week and the 2013 MDC Presidential Dinner Award.
The All-Star Weekend will take place July 25-28 at Northwest Florida State College, in Niceville. The event will coincide with the official Hall of Fame banquet, in which Hinnant’s coach, Susan Summons, will be honored.
