Macy’s announced it is offering savings on hundreds of items for its Black Friday sales event.


Also, for the first time, the giant department store is offering free shipping on all online purchases  of at least $99, excluding furniture, mattresses and rugs, for the entire shopping season running through Dec. 20.

“Macy’s is excited to offer some of the season’s most desirable gifts at incredibly compelling prices this Black Friday and our new free shipping promotion for online orders will be a huge hit with customers," Martine Reardon, executive vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

“We take great pride in being a holiday shopping destination and in providing unique and affordable items throughout the season. This year, we hope to elevate the ‘shop early’ message by utilizing Macy’s stars in imaginative ways,” Reardon said.  

Beginning at 4 a.m. on Nov. 26, the day after Thanksgiving, Macy’s will offer specials across the store on everything from cold weather goods to electronics to beauty supplies.
