White House spokesman Jay Carney says the president plans to visit Johnson Controls in Holland next Thursday.

A day earlier, the president plans to visit Interstate Moving Services in Springfield, Va., to announce new fuel efficiency standards for work trucks, buses and other heavy-duty vehicles.

Carney said the visit to the Michigan facility would highlight the role that innovative technologies will play in helping automakers meet tougher fuel economy standards. He says both visits show the administration's commitment to help people save money at the pump, reduce dependence on oil and create new jobs.
