kenneth_feinberg.jpgTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ The embattled administrator of a $20 billion fund to pay claims from Gulf of Mexico oil spill victims has disputed BP's complaint that he's being too generous with its money.

Kenneth Feinberg said after meeting with Florida lawmakers Friday that he's sticking to future damage estimates that the oil giant says artificially inflate those losses. He said they are based on solid science.

Feinberg also told a Florida House committee that a lack of transparency about why claims are being denied and delayed has been his “Achilles heel'' but he's determined to fix that problem.

A group of minority businesses people in the audience, though, staged a walkout to protest what they said were unfair denials and delays.
