carol_nash_lester_web.jpgBethel Apostolic Temple in North Central Miami-Dade will observe the 10th pastoral anniversary celebration for the Rev. Carol Nash-Lester, senior pastor/teacher, on the theme “A Kingdom Affair.”

The community is invited to join the celebration.  The schedule of events is as follows:

• 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, anniversary dinner, Miami Shores Country Club Ballroom, 10000 Biscayne Blvd., Miami Shores. Donation: $45.00
• 11 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 17, Morning Worship Service, Bethel Apostolic Temple
1855 NW 119th St. Special guest speaker: the Rev. Dr. William Lawson of Houston, Texas.

“We are truly blessed with an awesome pastor,” said Bethel Apostolic member Johnny Sanders, noted singer, actor, and television personality.

Nash-Lester came to South Florida nearly 25 years ago, joining the staff of Miami Dade College’s North Campus and becoming a member of the church and is the only pastor to have served under pastors who preceded her.

She was appointed minister of Christian Education under the church’s founding pastor, the Rev. Dr. Doris R.L. Akins.  When Akins died, she continued in her position under interim Pastor Anthony McDaniel.

After Elder Michael Moss became pastor in 1988, Nash-Lester was appointed an associate pastor and, eventually, assistant pastor.  She became pastor in 2000.
