All that is putrid wears the crown,
is held in highest regard.
Those sticks of ash that never leave
the lips of our youth;
the love and lust mingled together
as one abomination we don’t recognize;
all twisted on the spokes of the media
rimmed with golden fire. I burn with rage
and smolder at the disrespect we deal unto ourselves.
A wave of tribulation
and I feel.
I feel empathy for those who lost their way,
lost in the smile of Satan, to forever be his slave.
But we don’t know,
we have no idea of the fate we’ve made
so far down
beyond the reckonings of sin
as malice and complacent willingness locks us in.
