ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) – The U.S. attorney's office says Maryland state Sen. Ulysses Currie has been indicted.
The U.S. attorney's office said Wednesday that Currie, who chairs the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, has been indicted on charges that include conspiracy, bribery, extortion, mail fraud and making false statements.
The 73-year-old Currie had been under federal investigation for more than two years for working as a consultant for Shoppers Food Warehouse without disclosing the work in financial disclosure forms.
