MIAMI (BLACK PR WIRE) — Award-winning attorney Shavon Jones held a launch party on Wednesday, April 17 to mark the release of the print edition of Working Girls: Money, Power & Love, a story about four friends struggling to balance work, life and love.
Working Girls applies principles discussed in Sheryl Sandberg’s women’s leadership manifesto Lean In. Acclaimed biographer Blair S. Walker (Why Should White Guys Have all the Fun: How Reginald Lewis Created a Billion-Dollar Business Empire) will give introductory remarks.
The launch party was held at Southstreet Restaurant, a popular woman-owned establishment in the Design District section of Miam.
“Shavon Jones doesn’t shy away from the thorny issues that can sometimes accompany work-life,” said reviewer Bridget Todd, who teaches at Howard University. Working Girls tackles the intersections of racial, gender, and sexual politics with an honesty that is not often found in her genre.”
“I wanted the book to be relatable so that the readers would see some of themselves in the characters,” said Jones. Working Girls is available at online retailers including Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Jones’ tips for managing stressful lives also appear in the April issue of Key Biscayne magazine.
