NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (AP) _ Officials with an Ohio-based company say they are in the middle of hiring nearly 400 workers at a foundry outside Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1B7peCx ) reports the plan calls for boosting jobs at the Noblesville castings foundry through 2018.

The newspaper says the foundry had just 17 workers in 2008. ID Castings bought it in October 2013 and announced months later it would invest $51 million over five years to rebuild the plant and ramp up production.

The company has spent about $15 million and increased the workforce to 41 workers. Plant engineer John Kelley said the foundry has more than doubled production.

The foundry moved to its current location in 1890.
