On July 24, 201, The Root, an online magazine whose Editor-in-Chief Henry Louis Gates Jr., a well-known friend of President Barack Hussein Obama, published a piece written by Darnell L. Moore and Nyle Fort entitled, “An Open Letter to the Church: Homosexuality isn’t a sin, but Homophobia is – Homophobia is about hate, something that has no place in a Christian faith based on love.”

Then during the weekend of July 25 – 26, 2015, the City of Reno NV took the American flag down from City Hall and hoisted an LGBT Pride flag above it.

Even a federal judge fined a Mississippi school district $7,500 for opening an assembly with prayer and handing out bibles.

So it’s no wonder that when a judge in Toledo, Ohio refused to perform a same-sex marriage, the state supreme court appointed an ethics board to decide whether his actions or non-actions, as it were, warranted disciplinary measures.

Municipal Court Judge C. Allen McConnell, 71, said his decision was based on his long-established Christian beliefs.  Well the lesbian couple decided to report Judge McConnell even though another judge (a white Republican by-the-way) performed the marriage ceremony.  Judge McConnell is Black and a Democrat, a leader in Toledo’s NAACP, Urban League and Legal Aid Society, according to Black Community News.

The writers of the article about homosexuality not being a sin but homophobia is, compared the Christian belief to the anti-black rhetoric espoused by those with a racist white supremacist theology and excoriated the church for what they call “another form of Christian-sponsored bigotry for their anti-gay preaching.

Further, across the country in Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled that the Ten Commandments monument must be removed from the State Capitol grounds. The ACLU agreed that this “religious symbol” must be taken down.

So even though Christianity was being attacked before the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed same-sex marriage, Christian beliefs are being attacked even more in this country because of our POTUS.

We all know that Obama has been promoting same-sex marriage lately, even though he lied about being a Christian and having beliefs that marriage was between a man and a woman before he became POTUS.

So during the week of July 25, 2015, he went to his native Kenya and instead of just dealing with international relations, Obama chose to interfere with the way gays are treated there.  Homosexuality is a crime in Kenya, punishable by up to 7 -14 years in prison.

Obama compared the treatment of gays in Kenya with the treatment of blacks during slavery in America.  Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta was reportedly unmoved.

Church groups, according to Brietbart.com, marched in Nairobi to protest Obama promoting same-sex marriage during his trip there. The Kenyan Parliamentarians vowed to throw him out of the Parliamentary building if he even dared broach the subject.

Wonder why we never got that news from the mainstream media, like CNN which prides itself on being in the forefront of telling the news from all over the globe.

But this is what I really liked.  Breitbart.com reported that Kenya’ Deputy President William Ruto was not going to be swayed by Obama.  He told a church group: “Homosexuality is against the plan of God.  God did not create man and woman so that men would marry men and women marry women.”

My, my, my, they are not afraid of Obama in his daddy’s homeland.

The Deputy President continued, saying “We have heard that in the US they have allowed gay relations and other dirty things.  I want to say as a Christian leader that we will defend our country Kenya, we will stand for our faith and our country.”

“No amount of persuasions, theories or philosophy will make us change our position. We believe in God, this is a God fearing nation and will continue to be so.”

So when will Christian leaders in the US, especially Black Christian pastors (besides CAAP), have the courage to stand up to Obama?

But the best part is what the protestors in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, chanted, again as reported by Brietbart.  Wished I could have been there.

“We do not want Obama and Obama; we do not want Michelle and Michelle.  We want Obama and Michelle and we want a child.”  Wow!  Don’t you just love it?

Where are our courageous Christians willing to fight for our faith?

And to the young men who wrote the “Open Letter to the Church” – Homosexuality is not only a sin, it is an abomination. Read your Bible. In Leviticus, often thought to be written by Moses, there is the “Holiness Code” (chs. 17-16).

“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination”. Leviticus 18:22 KJV

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.  Leviticus 20:13 KJV.

So Kenya got it right.  It is America, Mr. Obama, who got it wrong.
