shelby_lowe_web.jpgRIVIERA BEACH — Organizers of the second annual Miss Riviera Beach USA and Miss Riviera Beach Teen USA pageants are seeking entrants for the competition which will be held on April 7

The organizers are hosting a series of Saturday workshops for prospective competitors. The next is slated for Feb. 11 at the Lindsey Davis Community Center, 1550 W. 28th St., Riviera Beach.

The city joined the Miss USA national pageant network in 2011 when Councilman Shelby L. Lowe brought the event to Riviera Beach. It is organized and operated by Ele’Ganzia, which is owned by Pageant Director Cecilia Martinez.

The current Miss Riviera Beach Teen USA is Isabella Martinez, a student at Inlet Grove High School, and Amisha Shockency, now a student at Palm Beach State College, wears the Miss Riviera Beach USA crown. Both competed at the state level.

The pageant entry fee is $100. Basic eligibility to compete in the Miss Riviera Beach USA pageant is age 18 to 26; for Miss Riviera Beach Teen USA, age 14 to 18.

New this year are competitions for younger girls: ages 5 to 7; 8 to 10; and 11 to 13.

Winners of the two main pageant levels go on to compete for Miss Florida USA and Miss Florida Teen USA.
