BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) _ T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $361 million.

On a per-share basis, the Bellevue, Washington-based company said it had profit of 42 cents.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 12 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 17 cents per share.

The wireless carrier posted revenue of $8.18 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.97 billion.

T-Mobile shares have increased 37 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 19 percent in the last 12 months.
