TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – About 41,000 customers in areas hard-hit by Hurricane Michael won’t have to worry about paying monthly power bills.
The Florida Public Service Commission on Tuesday agreed to temporarily waive the rule that requires monthly customer bills for Duke Energy Florida and Florida Public Utilities Company.
An email sent by the agency on Tuesday says Duke is suspending monthly bills to 28,523 customers in Bay, Gulf, Franklin and Wakulla counties. Florida Public Utilities is suspending bills for about 13,000 customers in Jackson, Calhoun and Liberty counties.

Public Service Commission Chairman Art Graham says customers can “now focus on recovery without worrying about their bill.”
