jawana_kungjufu_web.jpgLAUDERDALE LAKES  — The Broward County Public Schools invite the community to attend a special lecture presentation by Jawanza Kunjufu on “The Guidance of Youth to Adulthood,” Thursday, Feb. 7, 6 – 9 p.m. at Boyd Anderson High School, 3050 N.W. 41st St., Lauderdale Lakes.

This event, co-sponsored by the City of Lauderdale Lakes, is free and available to the public.

Kunjufu is a prominent advocate, social justice activist, celebrated author and speaker on topics that address diversity in urban school districts. His presentation will address ways to close the racial academic achievement gap and how to develop students to become self-disciplined.

The event will include a question-and-answer session.

Kunjufu is a graduate of Morgan State University and the Union Graduate College. An expert on issues related to racial disparities in public education, Kunjufu has been a guest on the Oprah and Tavis Smiley Reports television shows and frequents the national syndicated Michael Baisden radio show.

He has spoken at universities across the country and has provided consulting services to many urban school districts.
