Honor- to regard with great respect, esteem OR to accept (a bill) or pay (a check) when due.

Fashion: Billing Binds…Developing Doozies.

Honoring means many things, particularly, the act of accepting or paying something when due….For example,  credit cards! These tiny traps make it easy not to “honor” paying a bill when it's due resulting in accrued interest and ultimately paying more for the object than its worth. Credit card companies and departments know this.

I've noticed the trending terror of department stores requiring credit cards for discounts. Though, the potential price-tag is bothersome, the psychology behind it is brilliant!

"There is a lot of evidence that consumers spend more money when paying with credit cards than when they are spending cash. In addition, people may pay less attention to prices when they are paying by credit card than when they are paying by cash. For example, the article by Prelec and Simester cites an unpublished study by Dilip Soman suggesting that people are less likely to remember the amount they spent on a purchase when they pay with a credit card than when they pay with cash."

Avoid anxious, impulse, or careless consumption that sidetracks your financial stewardship. If you can’t pay cash, don’t buy. Some experts say to "Always leave home without it."…..I say, If you cant afford it, you shouldn’t hoard it!!

Don’t just stay “current” with clothes, stay current on your bill.  Honor the bill.

Faith: The Honorable Humanitarian: Jesus the Servant

My dad taught me that “A person is only as good as their service” (thanks dad).  I agree! The most impactful individuals serve. Politicians serve their constitutes,  employee serves employer, wives serve their husbands, Joseph served Potiphar, Samuel served Eli, David served Saul, Jesus served/s humanity…..get my drift?

In Christianity (followers of Christ), our life's objective is to live life like our LORD, serving. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples (hospitality), fed the hungry thousands (missions) and taught those who lacked understanding or hope (preacher/teacher, the shepherd) AND continues to serve today in heaven.  Talk about the perfect servant!

The bible clearly spells out servanthood for us in the great commission and this verse.  “For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10).  In other words, we were customly created, before time, in Christ Jesus to perform good service. Help others!

Helping is an honor, a gift really. All of the bible leaders listed above served royalty (and royally) resulting in abundantly overwhelming, bountiful living! Joseph became Chief Resource Steward to his King, Samuel became prophet to Kings (labeling him “THE prophet”), David became king, and Jesus became GOD”S right hand man, seated on such!

Your service precedes/predicts your promotion. Will you honor serving?

Freebie: ME: The Honored “Honoree”

Birthdays are the opportunity to unselfishly express your appreciation for the honoree by honoring them through gifts, time, or talents….and with October being my birth month, BOY did people EVER (thank u, I really appreciated it)!! My social media friends posted pleasantries, my husband/family/friends spoiled me mercilessly and GOD honored my birth with the GREATEST (& MOST overwhelming) gift ever….the opportunity to serve ROYALTY!!

As a result of serving, my family has been promoted (like Jesus, Joseph, Samuel, and David), got connected with potential covenant friends and has grown together as a married unit. MAN, I AM OVERWHELMING HONORED! I am honored to serve at my church & am looking forward to moving forward!!
