rick_scott_10.jpgTALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Gov. Rick Scott has reappointed 344 people to various state panels and positions because the Florida Senate failed to take confirmation votes.

About 50 people, though, did not get reappointed to such positions as college and university boards of trustees.

The reappointments were announced Monday. That was the last day they could be reappointed before having to leave their posts.

The list includes four State Board of Education appointees and three members of the Board of Governors, which oversees state universities.

A notable name among the missing is Adam Hollingsworth, a Scott transition team member. Scott did not reappoint him to the board of Enterprise Florida, a public-private economic development agency.

Senate leaders say they ran out of time before all appointments could be considered. Just eight appointees were confirmed.
