WASHINGTON (AP) _ The women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will retrace the footsteps of their founders who participated in the Women's Suffrage March of 1913.
Officials say thousands of the sorority's members are expected to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the march on Sunday and the role the organization's 22 founders played.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded in 1913 by 22 African-American women at Howard University.
Participating in the Women's Suffrage March was the first public act performed by the group's founders, according to their official website.
The sorority is one of the largest African-American women's organizations in the country.
