west_indies_cricket_web.jpgLAUDERHILL — The West Indies grabbed both matches in a Twenty20 two-game series played Saturday and Sunday in this Broward County city – the first formally sanctioned cricket has been played in the U.S.

The West Indies scored 209 runs for the loss of two wickets to defeat New Zealand by 56 runs in the first match and took the second match on with 177 runs for five wickets to 116 for New Zealand.

The series boosted the Central Broward Regional Park and Stadium, 3700 N.W. 11th Place, Lauderhill, venue for the series that was hosted by the West Indies Cricket Board.
