Miami – Created in 2011 to serve as an outlet for girls to cultivate creativity and boost their confidence by exploring their talents, the Girls’ Choir of Miami is a program of Girl Power that also helps participants learn to work together by using their musical gifts to be of service to the greater Miami community. The repertoire is carefully selected to challenge the girls, exposing them to new genres, new languages, and literature ranging from the Renaissance to the Jazz Age, from hip-hop to gospel.

On Nov. 6, the organization will host its fourth Annual Gospel Brunch Explosion, featuring the Girls’ Choir of Miami. The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will be hosted by the Beth David Congregation, 2625 SW 3rd Avenue, Miami.

“This event represents a small portion of the great work Girl Power does to empower young girls and send a message throughout the world that “Girls Matter,” said Thema Campbell, President & CEO of Girl Power.

In addition to the Girls’ Choir of Miami, the Gospel Brunch Explosion will feature spectacular soulful performances by Maryel Epps, LaVie, Karina Iglesias, Jamirah Gause & Wendy McGahee. Guests can expect a relaxed and inspirational afternoon perfect for music lovers, as they enjoy an exotic meal prepared by the award-winning Caribbean inspired Chef Irie Spice.

The fourth year of The Gospel Brunch Explosion is indicative of how the event has grown each year as community leaders come together to celebrate Girl Power’s mission to empower girls and their families.

“We have been a safe haven for at-risk girls ages 11 to 17 in the Miami-Dade community since 2000. We couldn’t have made this journey without the support of the community. We look forward to continued support and encouragement as we continue our mission of Improving Our Girls, One Girl at a Time,” said Campbell.
