MIAMI— Similar to Uber and its popular ride-sharing services, Miami-Dade Parks’ Bill Bird Marina at Haulover Beach Park welcomes Boatsetter, a leading international boat-sharing community making boating more accessible to residents and visitors. Patrons of Bill Bird Marina now have the opportunity to rent out their boats using Boatsetter.com’s peer-to-peer service.

This new feature allows non-boat owners the ability to enjoy a boating excursion without the need to buy a boat or pay to join a club. The deal helps to advance Miami-Dade Park’s mission to provide access to one of the area’s most precious resources – the beautiful waterways. “Blueways and waterways are an extension of our park system and as like the rest of our parks we want everyone to be able to have access to enjoy it,” Miami-Dade Parks Director Jack Kardys shared. “Our partnership with Boatsetter will help us to fulfill our mission to make boating more accessible and more affordable.”

Those who list their boats on Boatsetter.com will set their own prices, determine who can rent their boat and can choose who they want to captain their boat upon request. “We are excited to be able to work Miami- Dade Parks and the patrons at the Bill Bird Marina,” said Jaclyn Baumgarten, CEO of Boatsetter.com. “Boatsetter’s industry leading service provides boating enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the boating lifestyle with easy and affordable access to the water.”
