MIAMI — On Tuesday, July 31, from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., entrepreneurs will take part in the Small Business Strategies Conference at Florida Memorial University, 15800 N.W. 42 Ave., Miami Gardens.

Workshop titles include Checks N’ Balances: Getting Your Finances in Order; Contracting Opportunities: Getting the 411; and, Social Media: Staying Connected and Increasing Profits.

The half-day conference is free and open to the public, however registration is required as space is limited. For more information, contact Commissioner Jordan’s District Office at 305-375-5694.

“Small businesses employ more people in Miami-Dade County than our largest corporations,” said Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara Jordan, whose office organized the series of workshops designed to enhance and

empower small-to-midsized businesses. “We have got to ensure that they have the necessary tools to function and the industry knowledge to remain competitive.”

Panelists will explain how each workshop is relevant to building their brand and stimulating business growth, she said.

“This workshop series will provide needed guidance for those entrepreneurs who want to develop their businesses, but can’t spare three to four hours daily to research best practices or implement new strategies.”
