monica_1.jpgMIAMI GARDENS — The much anticipated 8th Annual Jazz in the Gardens kicks off Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17 with another star-studded lineup and nationally syndicated radio personality Michael Baisden returning as this year’s host at Sun Life Stadium, 2268 Dan Marino Blvd. in Miami Gardens.

The popular festival presented by the city will feature musical heavyweights ranging from Ne-Yo to Earth Wind & Fire; Charlie Wilson; New Edition; Monica; Fantasia; Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds; Najee; Rachelle Farrell and Mary Mary.

After seven years of unforgettable concert experiences and entertainment, Jazz in the Gardens has grown to become one of the most highly regarded and anticipated music festival events in the country.

The organizers attribute Jazz in the Garden’s artistic success to the legends who grace the stage each year along with its food, affordable tickets and Miami Gardens’ welcoming March weather.

More than 50,000 music lovers from around the state, the nation and the Caribbean reportedly attended the 2012 event, enjoying live performances by Grammy award-winning artists such as Lauryn Hill, Charlie Wilson, Al Jarreau, Gladys Knight, EnVogue, Musiq Soulchild, Lalah Hathaway, Branford Marsalis, while reveling in a wide variety of ethnically diverse foods and top notch merchandise from all around the world.

Once again in addition to the music a variety of food will be served, including soul food, Jamaican, Haitian, Latin, Chinese and Bahamian; as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

For purchase in the marketplace area will be arts & crafts, CDs, T-shirts and other souvenir items and gifts.

Non-for-profit organizations and vendors, interactive stations, games, photos, and other exciting features promise to add to the fun.
