The Broward Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday that 46-year-old Michelle Nicholas is charged with grand theft and exploitation of the elderly. Court records did not show an attorney listed for Nicholas.

Investigators say Nicholas pretended romantic interest in 82-year-old John Deam and they went on a three-day Florida Keys trip in March. Deam paid all expenses and also bought Nicholas a $13,000 Rolex watch.

After their return, authorities say Nicholas used Deam's credit card to open an account listing her as an additional card holder and persuaded him to buy her a 2006 Lexus for more than $25,000.

Deam has age-related mental limitations.
