The Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce will host a workshop series geared towards helping non-profits empower themselves and achieve success. The “Mission Possible: How to make a non-profit successful” workshop will  include what the chamber calls “a shark tank,” described as “an opportunity for ideas to be pitched for viability to a panel of business management experts.”

It is another in the chamber’s Business Empowerment Network Series.

Topics will include the elements necessary to make non-profits succeed, including business management, legal issues, marketing and fundraising.

Speakers will include  Norman Wedderburn, president/CEO of Make A Wish Foundation of South Florida; Javier A. Soto, president/CEO of the Miami Foundation; and Dolores Dunn, president/CEO of the Center for Family and Child Enrichment Inc.

The event is open to the public and costs $10 for chamber members and $15 for non-members. Exhibition space, which is limited, will be available for $30 for members and $40 for non-members.

The initiative is being funded by a grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and is being sponsored by the South Florida Times and the Young Professionals Network.

It will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, Jungle Island, Treetop Ballroom, 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail, Miami.
