steve-white-web.jpgRIVIERA BEACH — Maybe it’s just me but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of enthusiasm for Kwanzaa anymore, if there ever was. Perhaps I should’ve known that Kwanzaa wouldn’t last since it isn’t based on commercialism, greed and exploitation.

Since Kwanzaa doesn’t promote white supremacy, should I be surprised that the majority of black people have rejected the observance?

Read up on the seven principles (Nguzo Saba) of Kwanzaa and then tell me how we can justify abdicating our commitment to those principles.

Maybe if we resurrect Kwanzaa, we will resurrect our own lives and those of our children.
